King's Reach, Reach Out
Our Reach Out EOTAS programme delivers personalised education for children unable to attend school, meeting their learning and wellbeing needs through flexible, tailored support.

EOTAS stands for Education Other Than At School. An EOTAS package is a tailored educational provision arranged by a Local Authority for a child or young person who cannot attend a mainstream or special school—typically due to medical, emotional, or complex needs.
Our Reach Out EOTAS provision is designed to meet each individual’s specific learning, social, and developmental needs. It may include a combination of:
-
Tutoring or 1:1 teaching
-
Therapeutic support (e.g. speech and language therapy, counselling)
-
Alternative education settings (such as King's Reach Trades or Woodlands)
-
Online learning or community-based activities

A Reach Out EOTAS package is put in place when it is determined that no school placement can reasonably meet the child’s needs, and it must still deliver a broad and balanced curriculum in line with their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The Local Authority remains responsible for ensuring the quality and legality of the education provided through EOTAS.
