Our Curriculum

At King’s Reach, we create a safe and nurturing environment where young people can rebuild confidence, overcome challenges, and discover their potential. Our tailored curriculum offers breadth and depth, supporting learners across all academic levels with understanding, encouragement, and opportunity.

Our curriculum is designed around each student, combining academic learning, practical skills, and personal development. Every young person follows a pathway that helps them grow in independence and prepares them for life beyond school.

What we offer
  • Academic subjects including English, maths and science, with opportunities to achieve GCSEs, Functional Skills and AQA Awards.

  • Practical learning such as cookery, painting and decorating, trades, and IT.

  • Outdoor learning in our own 10-acre woodland, with Forest School, conservation, and environmental projects.

  • Life skills covering everyday independence such as cooking, money management, travel training, and self-care.

  • Careers and work experience with CV writing, interview skills, supported internships and tailored work placements.

  • Personal development through PSHE, RE and RSE, helping young people learn about relationships, safety, health, resilience and respect for others.

  • Community outreach and volunteering to build confidence, empathy and social skills.

  • Physical education tailored to individual interests, including gym sessions, swimming, team sports and horse riding.

  • Trips and enrichment to broaden horizons through cultural, creative and community experiences.

Our approach
  • Small group and one-to-one learning with qualified teachers.

  • A trauma-informed approach that understands each young person’s needs.

  • Individual targets reviewed regularly with students, parents and carers.

  • Strong transition planning to support next steps into college, training or work.

At King’s Reach, we believe in giving young people time. Our aim is for every student to leave with confidence, skills, and hope for the future.
